EfM New Curriculum Rollout

Do you have questions about your faith? Education for Ministry (EfM) is a course of study providing the framework to connect faith to your daily life through reading and discussion.

The new curriculum encompasses EfM Classic, a 4-year program and EfM Wide Angle, a 1-year program that gives participants a taste of each of the classic 4 years. This self-study program has no tests, no quizzes. The groups meet once a week Fall through Spring. Open invitation to Advent parishioners to attend; participants must purchase their own book.

Veteran Women's Christmas Bags

Donations accepted until Sunday, December 14

ACW members are collecting travel size lotions and potions for our Christmas bags to help Veteran women receive a gift for Christmas.

Collection baskets have been placed at the entry doors to the sanctuary. Please drop off your donations on Sundays or during weekday office hours.

Advent Holiday Food Drive

Narthex

Ways to give:

1. Take a bag with a list of items needed from the Narthex, fill it, and return to the Narthex. Food items include canned vegetables, instant potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, gravy, cream of mushroom soup, macaroni and cheese, chicken/turkey broth.

2. Buy a turkey or ham and bring it to Advent on Sunday, December 8, from 9am to 11am.

3. Donate cash to the Plates of Love on Sunday, December 7. All cash donations will go to St. Mary’s Food Bank.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Join us for our mouth-watering annual Thanksgiving dinner as we give thanks to God for all God’s many blessings in our lives. Enjoy this wonderful fellowship opportunity.

Tickets are $10 each and will be sold after both services on Sundays 11/16 and 11/23. Tickets can also be purchased in the office during normal business hours.

Doors will open at 5:00 pm; dinner will be served at 5:30 pm.

Freewill offerings accepted for libations.

Pascua Yaqui Gifts Donation

Christmas Tree in the Church Nartex, West Entry

Help us prepare for our annual visit to the Old Pascua Yaqui Village in Tuscon on December 22, 2025.

This year donations will be used to purchase gifts for 13 separate households in which Elders are raising grandchildren or other young family members in their home.

Simply take an envelope from the tree, place a cash/check donation in the envelope and place it in the box next to the tree. (Make checks payable to Advent Episcopal Church with Old Pascua on memo line.)

The Phoenician Tenors Concert

Keeping with the bel canto tradition, The Phoenician Tenors pay homage to some of the finest musicians of our time while honoring opera’s most celebrated stars. They thrill audiences all over the country with a truly enriching experience. Join us for an exciting Christmas concert.

Tickets are $15 each and are on sale now through the day of the concert. Pick up tickets at the office Mon - Thurs 9-12 noon or after Sunday services.

Helping Hands

First 3 Mondays of every month

Join us on the first 3 Mondays of the month to make pillows and blankets for those in need. The blankets are made from fabric for kids (about 36” square) and the pillows are for kids and adults. Some of the adult pillows (about 8” x 8“) are for women with breast cancer to put in their armpit after surgery.

It’s a wonderful way to donate your talents for good causes and enjoy good camraderie.

All volunteers are welcome!

Happy Hat Hookers

4th (and 5th, if there is one) Mondays of month

Join us on the 4th Mondays of every month (and 5th, if there is one) to make hats on a loom. The hats are donated to military for under their helmets, to people going through chemo (head gets very cold), to homeless, and to babies.

It’s a wonderful way to donate your talents for good causes and enjoy good camraderie.

All volunteers are welcome!

Women’s Weight Management

Join this group of motivated folks who choose to lose. This group offers great support in your struggle to lose weight. And it pays to lose; the biggest loser each week wins $3; second biggest loser wins $2; third biggest loser wins $1.

We also share ideas about good nutrition and food to help you achieve your goals.

The cost per person is $3 a week. Pay at the class. Come and give us a try!
